The “The Courtyard” complex arises from the desire to combine formal simplicity and functionality with a particular focus on energy efficiency and quality of living. The four independent villas, arranged on a single floor and connected by flat-roofed garages, are designed to ensure maximum autonomy, freedom of movement, and a strong connection to the outdoor space, thanks to the private gardens surrounding each unit.

The main concept of the project is based on the idea of essential and orderly architecture. The regular and symmetrical layout of the homes creates a clear readability of the spaces, both in terms of floor plan and volumetric organization. The two villas facing the street feature gable roofs, while those at the back adopt hip roofs, creating a variation that enriches the dialogue between the units while maintaining formal coherence.

One of the central aspects of the project is the careful study of openings and the orientation of the interior spaces. The distribution of spaces has been designed to maximize usability and natural light, with a clear separation between the living area—an open space that combines the living room and kitchen—and the sleeping area, which consists of three bedrooms. The design choices aim to provide comfortable homes suitable for daily life without sacrificing functionality.

The use of warm, natural materials like wood for the ceilings and stone for some portions of the facades is an intentional choice aimed at making the interior spaces welcoming and familiar.
